Storage Solutions stores furniture and household goods in two guarded warehouses in Athens, Greece, and takes care of the work around it: packing, collection from your home, an itemised inventory of every piece, and delivery when you need your things again. You pay from €5.00 per cubic metre (m³) per month, only for the volume your belongings actually take up, not for an entire storage unit. Prices are final; if you need an invoice, we issue one with 24% VAT added.
Our team speaks English, so you can arrange everything by phone or email in English. This page is for people moving to or out of Greece, expats between leases, diplomats and international staff between postings, and anyone renovating or moving house in Athens who needs somewhere safe to keep their furniture.
What we do
- Storage for as long as you need, from one month to long-term, in premises guarded 24/7 by G4S, with fire detection and extinguishers.
- Home and office moves within Attica, with our own vehicles and crew, a furniture lift for upper floors and items that won't fit in the lift or stairwell, and a telescopic crane for heavy, bulky items.
- Moves anywhere in Greece and abroad. We move goods anywhere in Greece, with our own vehicles or through a partner haulier, always packed and supervised by us, and we can collect household goods from abroad or deliver them under our supervision to most countries in the world.
- Dismantling and disconnection at no extra charge: where needed, our crew takes furniture apart so it can be packed and moved safely, and disconnects appliances, light fittings and washing machines. For air conditioners we provide a specialist refrigeration technician.
- Packing with proper materials, taking extra care with fragile items. If you prefer to pack yourself, we can supply moving boxes and packing materials at wholesale prices.
- A free estimate. We can visit your home to see what you want to store or move, or estimate from photos or a phone call.
- An itemised inventory of everything you hand over, so you know exactly what is in storage.
- Returns of part or all of your belongings, delivered to your door or collected by you.
You can also bring your items to the warehouse yourself, or through a mover of your choice, and simply pay for storage by the cubic metre. Handover is at the warehouse entrance, by arrangement, Monday to Friday 09:00–15:00.
Moving to Greece? Store first, move in later
Whether you are relocating from the UK or the US, arriving on a Golden Visa or settling in as a digital nomad, your furniture often arrives before your home is ready: the lease hasn't started, the renovation is running late, or you are still deciding where to live. We keep your belongings guarded and itemised in Athens until you are ready, then deliver them to your new address, in Attica or elsewhere in Greece.
We can handle the international leg too. We can collect your household goods from abroad and bring them to Athens under our supervision. If you already have an international mover, we can receive the shipment from them instead and coordinate with them; we need a packing list and a delivery note for the shipment, so get in touch before it leaves.
Moving out of Greece? Keep what you are not shipping
Leaving Greece, for good or for a few years? Shipping a whole household is expensive, so many people send only the essentials and store the rest. We pack and store what stays behind, record every item in the inventory, and return it when you come back. When you are ready, we can also deliver it to you abroad under our supervision, to most countries in the world, or hand it over to a mover of your choice. Keep the inventory with your relocation paperwork; it is what you check against when your belongings come back.
Storing furniture when moving house or renovating in Athens
The most common reason people need furniture storage is a gap: between moving out and moving in, or while builders work on a flat. Because we also do the move, one crew can pack your home, take everything to storage and bring it to the new address later, with no second company involved. Storage runs from one month, and after the minimum period you choose, it renews monthly, so a renovation that overruns is not a problem.
How pricing works
Your monthly bill is simple: volume in m³ × price per m³. We measure your belongings as packed when they arrive and email you the measurement; you have ten working days to raise any objection in writing. Storage is paid monthly, within the first five days of each rental month, by IRIS, bank transfer or card, in person or online, so paying from abroad is easy. Prices are final; if you need an invoice, we issue one with 24% VAT added. There is a minimum charge of €25.
Your volume depends on what you own rather than on the size of your home: two flats of the same size can differ a lot. Bulky sofas, wardrobes and appliances add the most; well-stacked boxes add surprisingly little. As an example, belongings that take up 10 m³ cost 10 × €5.00 = €50 a month. The free estimate, by phone, from photos or with a visit, tells you your actual volume before you commit.
Charged separately: moving and transport, the furniture lift or crane, and packing materials or labour if you need them. Ask us for these when you request your quote.
Is it cheap storage? It is honest storage. Most storage units in Athens are priced per square metre of floor space, and you pay for the whole unit, including the empty space and the aisle you leave to reach your things. Paying by volume means you pay only for the space your belongings fill, which is usually the cheaper option for a full household.

- Inventory and measurement. Every item is recorded, and the measured volume is emailed to you.
- Storage. From one month upwards, renewing monthly after the minimum period you choose.
- Return. Give two working days' written notice to take back some or all of your things.

Both warehouses are open Monday to Friday, 09:00–15:00. Access to your belongings is by arrangement within those hours, not 24/7; in special cases we can also serve you at weekends or on public holidays, at an extra charge. Good to know before you book
- Solid buildings. Our warehouses are reinforced-concrete buildings, not sheds, kept at room temperature. For very sensitive items such as fine art, ask us before you book.
- Declare valuables. Artwork, antiques and other items of value should be declared in writing at handover and insured separately if they are worth more than the basic cover.
- Not accepted: weapons and ammunition, explosives, flammable, chemical or toxic substances, drugs, medicines, and food or perishable goods.
- Contract in English. The terms on the website are in Greek (terms of storage), but the contract is available in English.
Security and cover
The warehouses are guarded 24/7 by G4S and fitted with fire detection and extinguishers. Basic cover of up to €1 per kilogram is included at no extra charge for properly packed items. If your belongings are worth more, you can ask for additional insurance at any time, at your own cost.
